Dr Janine Arnold

Originally from Sydney, Janine undertook basic surgical training in Royal North Shore Hospital, and then completed her Surgical Education and Training in the Bankstown / Prince of Wales Network.

With a desire to be a rural surgeon, she sat and passed her Fellowship Exam in May 2011, and then worked in Bendigo as the Surgical Fellow in 2012. 

Janine then accepted a Surgical Consultant position in Bendigo, and has worked there since 2013, previously performing outreach to Castlemaine, Rochester and Echuca. She also operates at Warringal Private in Melbourne.

Qualifications

  • BSc(Med) MBBS (UNSW).
  • FRACS.

  • General Surgeons Australia.
  • Australian and New Zealand Society for Metabolic and Obesity Surgery.

Positions

Visiting Medical Officer – Bendigo Health, St John of God Bendigo and Warringal Private.

Additional Professional Activities and Contributions

Janine is an instructor the following courses – EMST (Emergency Management of Severe Trauma) and CCrISP (Care of the Critically ill Surgical Patient), provided by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

Janine also instructs on MOSES (Management of Surgical Emergencies), provided by General Surgeons Australia.

Janine will be co-convenor for ASC 2020 (rural section).

Janine has been an interviewer for SET (Surgical Education and Training) selection in 2014 and 2017.
